Laparosopic Surgery (Key Hole Surgery) |

Also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), bandaid surgery, keyhole surgery is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions (usually 0.5-1.5cm) as compared to larger incisions needed in traditional surgical procedures.

LaparoscopicTraditionally kidney is removed through 15 cm cut in the flank area which is painful and requires 7 days hospital stay. Postoperative recovery is delayed and it takes about 1 month to return to normal activity. In contrast, laparoscopic surgery is done through 2cm incision, this has the advantages of being less painful and aids faster recovery, you can be discharged from the hospital after 48 hours. You can resume your normal activities after 1 week.
